Crude Oil Production
Crude oil and condensate production more than halved between 2015 and 2022, from 2.1 Mt to 0.9 Mt. It had already decreased rapidly between 2009 and 2013 (-10%/year).
The 5 main oil and condensate fields are Maari, Pohokura, Mau Mangahewa, and Kupe.
With the closure of the last refinery, crude oil imports have fallen in favour of imports of refined products (6.1 Mt) to meet 90% of the domestic consumption of oil.
